Kings Race Bearing XP series for both Rods and Main. Oil mainly used Castrol GTX 20w50 (went to 10w40 when temps got lower than 75*). Baldwin B253 Racing oil filter with 18 micron filtering and 20psi internal bypass valve.
Motor Break-in:
- 8psi boost for first 250 miles (rarely reved more than 6k)
- 14psi boost from 250 - 1000 miles
- SZ tune at 1000 miles and boost turned up to 18psi onwards
- One trackday after and around town driving.
-Bearing pictures are at about 1750 miles since break-in
-Compression and leak down test are good.
- 5 oil/filter changes since break-inOil pressure is the same as when i first started her up. Bearings are still usable but indicate that I am getting filtering issues since ALL bearings show the same debris damage and also embedded material. I am also still getting shavings in the oil which i am associating with progressive bearings damage and still some ring break-in going on. Aside from the debris, the bearings are wearing pretty well. My plan is to put back the 60psi relief valve (feed to stock oil cooler) and see how the oiling system responds.
